Not replaceable with free media because (WP:NFCC#1)	This file is not replaceable, as this is a file containing an official seal of the institution (taken from a diploma), to be used to help identify the institution, and to identify elements from the seal (such as the motto, the altar, and the ox and plough) mentioned in the article. Other logos including the blue circle and white W logo or the athletics department's block DW logo, are also not free media, and serve other functions, not related to being the official representation of the University as a whole. There are no known free media files that could identify the institution in the way the seal does, and as such, this file is entered into the database.
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3)	This file is to show the seal of Dakota Wesleyan University on the university's listing on Wikipedia. It is to be shown as a representation of the university, it's regalia, and it's traditions. It is small enough resolution as to not be unnecessarily large, but is large enough to recognize the item in question.

This Seal is the OFFICIAL SEAL of DAKOTA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY, a Private Liberal Arts University in Mitchell, South Dakota. This seal came from the bottom of the uploader's diploma, and was scanned, and the background removed. The uploader, as an alumni, feels it necessary for this seal to be uploaded, despite the design being the intellectual property of the university, as a way to identify the school better on Wikipedia.
