English: Description/Blazon

A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of, on a black disc, a shield blazoned: "Per fess Gules and Argent, in chief a stylized crenellated fort Or with three windows Sable, in base two sabers, points up saltirewise surmounted by a spur winged at its tip by a vol of the third," attached below and to the sides of the shield a semi-circular green scroll inscribed "GUARDIANS OF THE LOW COUNTRY" in gold letters.

Symbolism Scarlet and white, the spur and the crossed sabers represent Cavalry. The fort refers to the historic Beaufort Arsenal associated with the unit. The vol attached to the spur denotes quick response to mission requirements and the speed with which operations are carried out. Green recalls association with the Armor Branch. Black indicates strength and solidarity. Gold denotes excellence.

Background

The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 31 October 2003.
