Summary

Description
English: The building at 54 Broadway at the corner of Montgomery Street in Tivoli, New York was built as a retail store by Erastus Kimball, and converted into the Morgan House hotel in 1856 by Edward Lasher. At some time later it was renamed the Potts Hotel. At an unknown date the hotel was purchased by Patrick Morey. The side of the building has a sign reading "Hotel Morey". According to local tradition, when Morey bought the Madalin Hotel across the street, the first floor bar was removed from the old hotel and carried across the street and installed at the Madalin. Morey apparently transferred the name "Morey Hotel" to his new acquisition, the Madalin Hotel.
