Description1990 Ford Corsair Ghia (9157120895).jpg
These were simply a rebadged Nissan Pintara (Bluebird) that were sold only in Australia. The car was meant to be a placement for the Mazda 626 based Ford Telstar, but instead, Ford Australia kept the Telstar and Corsair together to cover both the lower and higher segments of the medium size car market. It only lasted until 1992, which is when Nissan closed it's Australian manufacturing plant and with it the Nissan Pintara also died.
They were sold as a sedan and hatchback and as a 2.0L or 2.4L 4 cylnder engines. The hatchback always reminded me of a cross between a small wagon and a hatchback and nowadays is super rare!! The Ford version never sold in the same numbers as the Nissan, mainly because people bought the larger Telstar instead.
