The LH Torana was built from March 1974-Feb 1976.
The LH was longer and wider car than the LJ it replaced and now available with not only 4 and 6 cylinder engines, but a V8 as well.
The SL/Rs were the performance models, They gained full instrumentation, radial ply tyres, rally striping and a four speed floor shift manual, The SL/R 5000 got front and rear spoilers, the race ready L34 version, bolt on flares as well. 263 L34 versions of the SL/R 5000 were built so the Torana could be Homologated for racing, as well as the bolt on flares, the L34 got bigger brakes from the HQ, special pistons, roller rockers, larger inlet and exhaust valves, headers, baffled sump and twin point dizzy. On top of that, the Performance Pack gave you an oil cooler, solid lifters, competition pistons and 780cfm Holley.
This car is the 3rd L34 off the production line and one of three used by HDT.
Peter Brock put the car on pole at the 1974 Bathurst 1000 and was leading the race at lap 118 when the car expired.
Colin Bond put the car on pole in 1975 and finished 3rd.
