English: Interior of Zandys Steak Shop in the 1950s.Still located at 813 St. John St.
Building was originally constructed as a silent film theater named Southern Theater in 1926. Became the Park Theater in 1931 and added sound. Was a local neighborhood theater on the South Side of Allentown, showing second-run films. Closed in 1956. Edmund Zandarski purchased the closed theater building, remodeled it and opened it as the new 72-seat Zandy's Steak Shop. Inside the steak shop you can see the remnants of the movie theater clearly.
