Summary

Description
English: Painting of the 16 Arhats/Arhants/Luohans a.k.a. Juroku Rakan; they are depicted with various associated symbolic items; done in a "gentle caricature" style; late 19th to early 20th century, Japanese. Signed & sealed, artist not (yet) identified.

Each arhat is (probably) intended to be individually identifiable, through their actions & associated objects. For example, the red-hooded figure in the top right quadrant is Bodhidarma/Daruma.

Edited version (cropped) intended as a working print, for use in wikipedia articles, etc.
