	Cartoonist: Charles Jay Budd
	Source: Harper's Weekly
	Date: November 9, 1912, pp. 14-15
This Harper’s Weekly cartoon honors both President William Howard Taft and President-Elect Woodrow Wilson as “Two American Gentlemen,” showcasing how the United States transfers power peacefully from one political party to another. When Wilson learned during the presidential campaign that he was staying in the same hotel as Taft, the Democratic challenger visited the incumbent Republican president and the two had a very cordial meeting.
