English: AWM caption: 1942-12-16. PAPUA. GONA. 55/53RD INFANTRY BATTALION CREW OF 25 POUNDER UNIT NEAR THE MUZZLE OF THEIR GUN. WHEN THE 25 POUNDERS FIRST ARRIVED BY PLANE AND OPENED FIRE ON THE JAPANESE, TROOPS STOOD UP AND CHEERED AT THE SOUND OF THE FIRST SHELL WHICH SCREAMED OVERHEAD. (NEGATIVE BY G. SILK).
