Summary

Description
中文(繁體):棧二庫、棧二之一庫與同區的香蕉出口專用倉庫,為民國40、50年代的建築,為台灣經濟奇蹟創下輝煌的歷史,對於高雄舊港區的發展頗具歷史意義。
English: Pier-2 Art Center, located within Basin No. 3 in the Port of Kaohsiung, was built in 1973 as a general warehouse at the port. In 2000, this space, which is full of experimental possibilities, was discovered when the authorities were looking for a place for the National Day fireworks display. Passionate artists and local cultural workers integrated this unique, offshore and open space for art with the resources of the Council for Cultural Affairs’ idle space reutilization program and opened a new era of creation for the Pier-2 Art Center. Under the vigorous management of Kaohsiung Pier-2 Art Development Association and Shu-Te University’s Workshop for Developing Local Arts, Pier-2 Art Center has become a location for experimental creations and a development center for craft innovations in southern Taiwan. This art space is characterized as an avant-garde, experimental, innovative and international art platform in Kaohsiung. It also records the pulse of the life development history in Kaohsiung and the heart of a new Kaohsiung. This is the spirit of revitalizing Pier-2 Art Center as well as a new page for Kaohsiung’s culture and arts.
