Ελληνικά: Ο Γιάννης Τσαρούχης γεννήθηκε στον Πειραιά το 1910. Υπήρξε πολύπλευρη προσωπικότητα και όπως έλεγε ο ίδιος, σε όλη του τη ζωή παρέμεινε ένας ερευνητής. Πέρα από ζωγράφος υπήρξε συγγραφέας, μεταφραστής αρχαίων τραγωδιών, σκηνοθέτης,
σκηνογράφος και ενδυματολόγος. Φοίτησε στην Αθήνα, στη Σχολή Καλών Τεχνών με δασκάλους τον Ιακωβίδη και τον Παρθένη και μαθήτευσε για ένα διάστημα κοντά στον Κόντογλου. Έπαιξε μεγάλο ρόλο στην αναγνώριση της καλλιτεχνικής αξίας του Θεόφιλου και μαζί με άλλους πνευματικούς ανθρώπους πρωτοστάτησε στο αίτημα της εποχής για την ελληνικότητα στην τέχνη. |
