Summary

Description
English: We continue today on the magical, mystery tour of the Mason catalogue. An "Elaborate technical wheel, possibly hydro electric generator, figures ascending" a spiral staircase no less - shouldn't be too hard to identify...?

....And indeed many immediately recognised this as the Laxey Wheel on the Isle of Man. Built in the 1850s, it was designed to pump water from the Laxey mine - and is now something of a symbol of the island.
