How does this work?[edit]

"The administrative action whose log entry you are currently viewing" - I wasn't aware there was somewhere you could view an individual log entry at all, let alone one where templates will show up expanded. --Random832 (contribs) 18:51, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It would work in a mediawiki-edit notice or a block notice to the admin editing through protection or a person attempting to edit through a block. MBisanz talk 18:52, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Right but those aren't "viewing a log entry of an administrative action" (for the block notice, maybe, but that's not what they're _doing_, that's just a side effect, and it's an obtuse way of saying it. --Random832 (contribs) 18:55, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Probably is, I never was a great writer, feel free to reword. MBisanz talk 18:59, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Redundant images[edit]

{{editprotected}} Could an admin please change {{BLP Spec Article}} to use either this local image (image "A") or this Commons image (image "B"). Whichever is more appropriate. {{BLP Spec Article}} currently uses this local image (image "C") which is an exact duplicate of images "A" and "B". I would have put this request on Template talk:BLP Spec Article, but it redirects here.--Rockfang (talk) 10:23, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Cheers. --MZMcBride (talk) 06:16, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Enforcement log[edit]

Today I ran around in circles screaming in blind panic at the very thought that a biography article on Wikipedia might contain unsourced negative material. Does this need to be logged somewhere? Gurch (talk) 02:53, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

Merge with Editing restrictions. It seems redundant and obscure to have two different pages with essentially the same information. Having all the information on a single page would allow for "single stop shopping" if trying to determine whether a particular editor was subject to a sanction. NE Ent 12:33, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hearing no objection I've done the merge. NE Ent 15:13, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Better late than never, I object. Just discovered Wikipedia:General sanctions and your removal of
Refer to Special enforcement on biographies of living persons and the special enforcement log..
But even if was lightly watching it I could have missed your change. ::There are definite process problems:
  • there was no merge notice on the WP:General sanctions page and no discussion there
  • Someone who missed the merge notice on this page wouldn't know what you are talking about since you don't specifically mention what you want to merge with might get a busy editor's attention.
Other objections:
  • With all the problems I've had with editors defaming BLPs in wikipedia, I never knew this arbitration existed. (And now I have some people I intend to use it on!) It should be mentioned in WP:BLP and I will push for that.
  • Why isn't it in the table "Imposed by the (Arbitration) Committee"?? Why could you not have moved it there? There must have been a reason it had its own listing.
  • Legally, it's important that this arbitration be mentioned on that page to show Wikipedia IS serious about preventing these vandalisms. (Same for BLP in my Opinion and if it gets reverted on WP:BLP will have that discussion.)
Meanwhile I'll just link to this discussion from General sanctions page to bring others over who may want to opine. CarolMooreDC🗽 15:23, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This page is deprecated[edit]

By motion of the committee, and pursuant to point 6 of that motion, I have redirected the attached page to WP:AC/DS. Further enforcement should be conducted under the system as changed by the motion. AGK [•] 00:04, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
