Not to be confused with Wikipedia:Awards by WikiProject; Wikipedia:WikiProject Wikipedia Awards; or Wikipedia:WikiProject Orders, decorations, and medals.

WikiProject Awards is a WikiProject that coordinates efforts of wikipedians to improve articles related to awards and prizes. Our members are encouraged to follow all existing policies and guidelines and help bring all related articles to a quality standard. An emphasis is made on citing reliable sources. If you would like to help, please join the project.

Scope Scope[edit]

This project is distinct from WikiProject Orders, Decorations, and Medals. That project deals with honours bestowed by the government. The scope of this WikiProject is to encompass articles and lists of actual awards. For example, from awards and medals presented by the Royal Society or the Nobel Prize to the Oscars or Laureus World Sports Awards.

Current consensus is that the importance of articles will be judged like so:

Importance Criteria Example
 Top Subject is a must-have awards related article and is considered a core to the project. This should be familiar worldwide. Nobel Prize
 High Subject is one of the most highly recognised awards in its field. This should be familiar to most people internationally. Golden Globe Award
 Mid Subject is well recognised within its field or its country of origin. Heisman Trophy
 Low Subject is notable in its field, but not highly regarded. These may be little known to most people. Pipe Smoker of the Year
 NA Subject importance is not applicable. Generally applies to non-article pages such as redirects, categories, templates, etc. Category:Awards
