WNYN-LD (channel 39) is a low-power television station in New York City. The station is owned by TVC Television and broadcasts from atop One Court Square in Long Island City, Queens.
History[edit]
As W51BV[edit]
The station began as W51BV on channel 51 on July 19, 1991, serving as an affiliate of The Box Music Network. It was licensed to Deer Park, New York.
As WNYN-LP[edit]
On November 20, 1995, the station rebranded as WNYN-LP. However, in 2000, it abruptly halted operations on channel 51, leaving fans of The Box in the area without programming.[citation needed] During this period, WNYN prepared to transition to channel 39, while its sister station WXNY-LP, previously on channel 39, made preparations to switch to channel 32.
In 2002, WNYN-LP relocated to channel 39 and became an affiliate of Azteca América.
As WNYN-LD[edit]
On June 12, 2009, analog transmission for full-power stations ceased, and digital transmission commenced. In 2010, Azteca relocated to WMBC-TV (channel 63)'s sixth subchannel. Concurrently, WNYN transitioned to being an independent station under a new branding called TVC 39. WNYN broadcast movies, music videos, and general programming.

The station moved to channel 30, shared with WNJJ-LD, as a result of a channel sharing agreement implemented to resolve a displacement conflict in August 2019.
