The 2019 Atlantic hurricane season[edit]

Hey Red Jay, this is Awesome12241, Thanks for letting me know, I didn't realise that, but this user undid my changes and got mad with me and I got offended and reverted it back and he did it without a reason. Anyway thanks for clarifying that.

Disambiguation link notification for July 23[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Nottingham Forest F.C., you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page John McGovern. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Notts Forest[edit]

I'm not sure why you are objecting to me pointing out the club are widely known as Notts Forest. Google suggests 167,000 instances of the phrase "Notts Forest". It might be incorrect but that's the point about nicknames. Assume the 'red' in your name means you are one of the red dogs yourself so maybe you should consider your conflict of interest here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.111.61.94 (talk) 21:44, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It’s not their name. It’s an error. It’s like saying Tottenham Hotspurs or Man Citeh or Chelski. Just because some people get it wrong or use deliberately antagonistic names doesn’t mean the club is known as it. Red Jay (talk) 08:55, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Mothering Sunday[edit]

Like you, I prefer baptise to baptize. So I've left it as is. But I've just double-checked in my Oxford Spelling Dictionary, and they actually prefer -ize. (Their house style is to use -ize whenever there's a choice, which seems to depend on whether the word is derived from Greek or not.) So baptize isn't strictly wrong for British English, and an editor at the OUP would probably choose it. I just thought I'd alert you to this. Musiconeologist (talk) 18:08, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The scripts I downloaded have a choice of Oxford and Commonwealth, I maintained EngVarB (commonwealth) with prefers -ise. Having -ize clashes with the variety the page is tagged as being written in. Red Jay (talk) 19:58, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Just reading up on the variants now. I took the B to indicate BrE, which I see it doesn't. Musiconeologist (talk) 20:07, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. Red Jay (talk) 20:20, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
