Individual Candidates tournaments[edit]

I've removed the links to individual candidates tournaments. I think it will clutter the table too much. Conceivably, in the future, there may be a page for every Interzonal and every Candidates. I don't think we want 10-20 Candidates tournaments linked to from the table. Adpete (talk) 01:46, 24 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Adpete I diagree. They link to this template, so the reverse should be true.Naraht (talk) 19:21, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Naraht Why should the reverse be true? Is there a policy that states "every page which includes a template, should be linked to from that template"? Adpete (talk) 01:04, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Since we already have pages for all the events since the modern Candidates format was instituted, I created a new navbox: {{Candidates Tournaments}}. Double sharp (talk) 14:56, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Individual Chess960, Rapid, Blitz, etc.[edit]

I also think we should remove the links to the individual Chess960, Blitz and Rapid championships. There is currently an inconsistency, because while we link to those (two of each), we do not link to the individual Women's world championships (of which there are more than 20 pages) or Olympiads (of which there are more than 40). Obviously adding all these would make the template ridiculously cluttered. But to link to some individual championship pages and not others, is inconsistent. Better to have a single link for ALL "other" chess world championships, which will in turn contain links to the individual championships. Adpete (talk) 01:03, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
