On left and right[edit]

The following discussion was imported from Wikipedia:Templates_for_deletion#Template:User_fil

  • Comment. I suggest using {{Userbox}} rather than {{Userbox-r}} for consistency with other userboxes. --Mithril Cloud 12:19, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Reply to comments. Ah. I purposely used Userbox-r such that it may be distinct. Actually, could someone hack up code that'll automate the placement of the ID? That way, it's up to the user to choose which side he/she wants the ID to be on. { PMGOMEZ } 12:54, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think the practice here is that language userboxes should look alike. --Howard the Duck 15:52, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • Tried looking for that guideline but couldn't seem to find it. Mind pointing me to the right direction? ... While you're at it, please edit the fil-#'s too. { PMGOMEZ } 16:19, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
      • There is no clear-cut guideline but there is a practice. For example, almost all put the letter at the left. But the colors can be different, methinks. --Howard the Duck 16:25, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
      • While there might be no actual guideline, a quick browse through several language userboxes shows that they are left-oriented. --Mithril Cloud 16:26, 20 December 2006 (UTC) (EDIT: Howard answered first. >_>) [reply]
        • Er, therefore what might be wrong with putting it at the right then? :D May we ask a Babel admin to respond here? { PMGOMEZ } 16:30, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
          • Nothing is wrong actually, but since the left side is used in practice, might as well conform to it. --Mithril Cloud 16:39, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
            • Um, I really don't know. I really feel for the right-side ID. Given that there are no concrete guidelines, I'm not sure if there's really anything to conform to? { PMGOMEZ } 16:53, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
              • I guess we'll need a third opinion for this. :) -- Mithril Cloud 16:58, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
                • For one, the links display should be linked identically with what other languages templates. Also, if everyone conforms to it, it can be considered as a rule. --Howard the Duck 04:08, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
                  • Guideline/policy, please. :) { PMGOMEZ } 04:38, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
                    • Refer to my previous post. --Howard the Duck 05:01, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
                      • Which? { PMGOMEZ } 05:05, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
                        • The 4th statement above this. --Howard the Duck 06:22, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
                        • Doesn't make sense still. Where does it say that for Babel Userboxes, if everyone conforms to it, it can be considered as a rule? Oh, yeah. Not everyone seems to conform to it. :P { PMGOMEZ } 06:37, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Linked elements[edit]

I guess several categories have to be created. I'd like it to be linked this way:

Katutubong tagapagsalita ng Filipino ang user na 'to.fil

--Howard the Duck 05:10, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Links are good, categories have been created way before. Kindly see Category: User fil { PMGOMEZ } 05:33, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Note that one link is red. --Howard the Duck 05:42, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Fix it. { PMGOMEZ } 06:20, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Done. So can it be applied now? --Howard the Duck 06:49, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You may apply it but the fil-N category page isn't done. { PMGOMEZ } 07:01, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Anything else? You may create one if you wish. --Howard the Duck 07:08, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Once I'm free from these endless debates. { PMGOMEZ } 07:14, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Saw the change, yet other levels not changed. Please implement across all. { PMGOMEZ } 07:18, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You may do it yourself, it's relatively easy, you'd just copy all of the contents of the template page, go to its sister templates, and modify some letters/characters, unless all you do is to revert things, and ensure Infobox Philippine High Schools won't be deleted. I'm busy on expanding other articles. --Howard the Duck 12:22, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This is an entirely separate matter from Infobox Philippine High School. WP:NPA { PMGOMEZ } 15:40, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Did I attack you? Instead of ranting, just do it. --Howard the Duck 15:43, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
"unless all you do is to revert things, and ensure Infobox Philippine High Schools won't be deleted." you do it. { PMGOMEZ } 16:41, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No personal attacks were made. Howard has a point. He's indeed busy with other articles while you're mostly focused at talk pages and reverting to IPHS at the moment. You know what needs to be added to IPHS the best, and you can do the editing yourself. --Mithril Cloud 02:04, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I shall add more stuff to IPHS. :) { PMGOMEZ } 02:24, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
(Indent reset) You misunderstood Mithril, what needs to be done is to transfer all of the functions of IPHS to ISS so that IPHS can be deleted already. --Howard the Duck 04:39, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I know that. But you know what will happen if I suggest that. Oh and, things went off-topic already, my mistake for mentioning the ISS-IPHS dispute again. --Mithril Cloud 06:54, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about that. However, could there be a way in which you can choose the option on what orientation you'll use? --Howard the Duck 14:09, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Guess what, I did it. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.................... zzzzzzzzzzzzzz --Howard the Duck 14:12, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Whoa, it worked! Nice job! Now that solves the left-right dispute. And we can now put this template on left orientation since the ones who prefer right can just use {{User fil|orientation=userbox-r}} instead. :D --Mithril Cloud 14:52, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
