No longer works[edit]

All links go to 404 error. --Wolf530 (talk) 13:22, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

One year later this is still true! I'm going to attempt to fix this. Psydude (talk) 06:05, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
In order to finish this, I'll have to do a lot of research, it's been too long. The basic function is that I need the first two letters of their last name, because all links are now in the form of
teamusa.org/athletes/LA/First-Last
where:
First is First Name,
Last is Last Name,
LA is the first two characters of the last name.
If someone has the code for how to pull the next two characters after finding a certain character (it will always be the two chars following the dash (-) ), that's all it needs. Psydude (talk) 06:39, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Just thought of another way. If you get one of the automation bots to somehow divide the first and last name, we can reuse the 1 tag (was sport) into their last name and just take the first two chars of that, which will require no LUA. Psydude (talk) 07:16, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yet a third solution is whats actually being implemented. I'm attempting to use the Find and Sub templates that someone has provided for this purpose. Not working yet. Psydude (talk) 07:53, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
