Saddle Island?[edit]

Everything in this template is bluelinked except for Saddle Island. I'm beginning to question whether this entity even exists. I could find nothing on it except a bare reference to a Saddle Island in this British Antarctic Survey report. There is a Saddle Island, South Orkney Islands; perhaps there has been some confusion here.

There are full entries on tiny places such as Shag Rocks, South Georgia, which is some bare rocks of under 50 acres. Why is there practically nothing on the web about Saddle Island?

It is true that the disambiguation page Saddle Island has an entry for Saddle Island, South Georgia, but that proves nothing. On the other hand, the article List of Antarctic and sub-Antarctic islands includes many tiny islands near South Georgia such as Black Rocks, South Georgia ("a small group of rocks") and Black Rock, South Georgia (not be confused with Black Rocks), "a low rock". And so forth. But no entity called "Saddle Island" is included. Whatever was used for reference for List of Antarctic and sub-Antarctic islands must not include it.

If Saddle Island does exist, it must be awfully insignificant. My inclination is to remove it from this template, absent any objection. Herostratus (talk) 22:51, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have written an article on the island. Apcbg (talk) 08:10, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
