Addition of Bacon's Rebellion? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Patfromlogan (talkcontribs) 16:53, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Can somebody please look into the organization of this template, and also the image? I hardly find it usable, it's barely visible. maxvu (talk) 16:13, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've made the text larger. I'll try to improve the image, but it's going to take some time. — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 20:30, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You there should be some way to add the locations? This revolt occurred in Jamaica, this one in South carolina etc. because it isn't always obvious or well known.--Dudeman5685 (talk) 23:02, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's a good idea. I'll see if that information can be added without making the template too large. — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 01:33, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I gave it a shot. Feel free to revert or edit mercilessly. — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 01:58, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks alot for the locations. I took of the "Location:, Fate:" lines, because I thought they were cluttering, and kinda redundent, but now the template has this stupid descending size pattern and it makes the lower ones difficult to see. Top ones look ideal though.--Dudeman5685 (talk) 04:35, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Don't use text in an image[edit]

Please upload a new image without the text, and then add the text to the box outside of the image. This is primarily for accessibility reasons; for instance, some people on mobile devices won't see the image and therefore won't even know what this template is about when first looking at it. Also, screen readers for the visually impaired won't pick up on it, too. Gary King (talk) 00:59, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jamaica and Haiti[edit]

The Caribbean isn't usually considered part of North America.Prezbo (talk) 17:49, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There are quite a few Wikipedia articles, including North America, that disagree. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 17:53, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You're right, I'm sorry.Prezbo (talk) 17:57, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A possible improvement[edit]

I tried copying and editing this template in my userspace because I disliked how text was being put in an image (some users would see only "Part of a series of articles on..." without the essential "North American slave revolts" bit; I have no idea why this accessibility disaster has persisted for all these years). I also made it collapsible because it shouldn't take up that much space unless the user decides to expand the box. I based it on the Paranormal template. What do you think? AutisticCatnip (talk) 00:39, 6 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think it looks good. Thank you for addressing the long-standing accessibility problem. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 02:36, 6 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Image[edit]

Well, plainly, the picture is both of poor quality and, eeeeh, ugly. I suggest we replace it with the more impressive portrait of Toussaint Louverture (no "slave revolts" caption inside the frame, turn it into a heading instead) or anything else. Care to comment? @AddMore der Zweite: Excellent suggestion, glad you did it. —Luis (talk) 22:55, 6 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't this be a campaignbox?[edit]

This seems best fit for a campaignbox since it is about a series of militant conflictsMangokeylime (talk) 22:08, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
