Write the Years[edit]

For the defunct channels, shouldn't you write the years? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.37.66.81 (talk) 12:03, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Colors[edit]

The white background with the orange text, I fear, is too strong of a contrast and the background actually blends in with the article. The darker color as the background seems much more in tune with other navigation boxes. BOVINEBOY2008 :) 03:08, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The orange backgorund and white text suggests the old Nickelodeon logo, the current color scheme matches the current scheme in which the text is orange and the backgound is white. The colors are based off of the current website [1]Piepie2 (talk) 04:45, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Why don't we get rid of the color altogether, since we have differing opinions? It will be more consistent with other navigation boxes. Remember, we are not affiliated with Nick and don't need to match current logos or anything like that. BOVINEBOY2008 :) 04:49, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps, but at one point someone will try to do that and they way it is does suggest a current representation, just as nobody complained about the previous color scheme which was indeed trying to reflect current branding. I'm just saying at one point there will be color so I don't think removing color will solve anything. Piepie2 (talk) 04:54, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Neither does edit warring, but I'm glad you came and discussed. I think in terms of consistency with other navigation boxes, it would be best not to include color, in my opinion. Many other navboxes don't use logo colors even though they could. BOVINEBOY2008 :) 04:58, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. I do prefer when browsing that boxes are uniform and colorless because it provides consistancy and stremlines things. I got caught up in the fact that they already were color coded. I don't know if I'm mistaken but I even saw a WP article on coloring boxes and it looked like they were supposed to be colored by subject matter only. Why are you making all this fuss about a stupid template color? It's no big deal, really! The logo is still orange, and there's still some white left! It's just some scheme. If you really care about this, then go to my talk page. Thank you.

Pinwheel Network (1977-1979)[edit]

The Nickelodeon article says that it started out as the Pinwheel Network on December 1, 1977 and changed its name to Nickelodeon on April 1, 1979. However, several newspaper articles I've read from the time Nickelodeon launched in 1979 (such as here: http://www.lib.rochester.edu/index.cfm?page=3483&y=1979&v=41&i=4&p=12) make absolutely no mention of this. Is this a case of wrong information? I know there was a channel called Pinwheel on QUBE channel C-3, but there is no evidence that this directly became Nickelodeon. --Nickelfan — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nickelfan (talkcontribs) 07:39, 9 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Disorganised, fails accessibility[edit]

I shall start with the colour scheme - the current garish orange fails to comply with legally required accessibility standards, so I will change to default navbox colour scheme. The biggest problem with this template is that it is very disorganised, and therefore confusing. Just one example: why are studios listed in two separate sections? As is, there is zero logic to the casual reader as to what this navbox is attempting to portray. It needs rearranging into a navbox of encyclopaedic standard, using sub-groups if necessary. NBC Universal templates on various Nick articles[edit]

There is a lot of NBC Universal templates on various Nick articles and NBC Universal has nothing to do with Nick because they dont even own Nick. Can someone remove them? — Preceding unsigned comment added by NakhlaMan (talkcontribs) 20:43, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
