Navbar[edit]

Is there any way to fix the navbar so that not every past, present, and future templates all redirect back to the same specific year? Tampabay721 (talk) 05:05, 28 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Tampabay721 I quite agree with you. It should be parameterized the way it is done in soccer, e.g. Template:2016–17 I-League table. Otherwise it's very misleading. Coderzombie (talk) 06:27, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I have temporarily disabled the navbars, pending any possible solution. I also have noticed that the template documentation currently says, "This template should not be used for previous seasons because it is computationally expensive". Perhaps that was the case when this template was originally created in 2008, but we now have lua modules that can be used. Zzyzx11 (talk) 10:43, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

On Module:Sports table[edit]

Is it possible we can merge this template with the module or have a custom-build version of the module going forward? I had asked the folks at WikiProject Baseball about this as well, and plan to do this with WikiProject NFL soon (as for Ice Hockey, they've been using a customized version for a while now). –Piranha249 (talk) 03:31, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Piranha249: You still here? Module:Sports table has been greatly expanded since 2018. Check out the mock-ups at User:Howard the Duck/sandbox to see how it looks like. Howard the Duck (talk) 16:09, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Howard the Duck, Yep, still here. –Piranha249 (Discuss with me) 19:26, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pct, not PCT[edit]

Is there a reason not to change the percent column header from "PCT" to "Pct", since it's an abbreviation, not an initialism like the other all-caps column headers? Perhaps the next time the template needs editing for some other reason? —[AlanM1 (talk)]— 08:07, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

*leader parms[edit]

I recently fixed the various *leader parms in Template:2019–20 NBA West standings and Template:2019–20 NBA East standings, which had not been updated the last time the standings were changed. In this case, it was wrong for 6+ days, but it seems easy to forget or set them incorrectly, especially during the season. Has there been any thought to making this automatic? I imagine being (maybe too) "expensive" in wiki template language. Is the template on someone's Lua-translation to-do list? —[AlanM1 (talk)]— 08:16, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 27 February 2021[edit]

Addition of navbars, as well as division leader indicators for teams below the 8th place mark (in the event a division leader is below the line). Both changes should also be added to Template:2020–21 NBA team standings. –Piranha249 (Discuss with me) 17:37, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please make your requested changes to the template's sandbox first; see WP:TESTCASES. – Jonesey95 (talk) 22:51, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

LUA version[edit]

I have created a LUA version of this template (see the sandbox), and added optional |splitX= parameters to allow changing the location of the horizontal dividers. this has allowed the merger of the other season-specific versions of this templates. if there are no objections, I plan to update the live version of this template to use the new LUA version (lower server overhead, faster page loads after edit). Frietjes (talk) 19:30, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

now updated. I have placed the old version in the sandbox for comparison in the testcases. Frietjes (talk) 17:59, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bad Games Back values returned[edit]

On multiple pages using this template, the games back value is being displayed in relation to the 2nd place team, not the leader. For example, on this NBA season's page, the Boston Celtics are listed as being negative-3 games back of the second-place Philadelphia 76ers, and the New York Knicks seven games back of the 76ers (they were 10 games back of the Celtics). I'm not sure of the functionality to make this edit, but I wanted to bring it to somebody's attention. -fuzzy510 (talk) 00:19, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
