Future lines[edit]

Will this template be able to handle/display the forthcoming Phase 3a (and even 3b) extensions? If so, will it display properly in the Metrolink infobox? If not, do we have an alternative in mind? --Jza84 |  Talk  16:14, 30 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Mosley Street[edit]

Hi all,

Mosley Street has now closed. Could someone remove it from the map (I'm unfamilliar with the code in the template)? --Jza84 |  Talk  12:47, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

 Done --Jza84 |  Talk  15:31, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've been a bit BOLD and added the symbols for 'connecting walkways' between Piccadilly Gardens and Market Street stops. The whole area has been remodelled since Metrolink arrived and (crucially) there are now screens everywhere, including at the former Moseley Street stop, to show departures for both stations. Please note this meant putting the Piccadilly Gardens INT symbol as an overlay otherwise the line looks very strange. I would be interested to hear thoughts.Peeky44 What's on your mind? 11:01, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Eccles[edit]

Per http://www.metrolink.co.uk/stationinfo/Documents/Route_Map.pdf, could somebody remove Eccles railway station as a mode-change option on this map? --Jza84 |  Talk  15:31, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Depots & service lines[edit]

Shouldn't we add the Queen's Road and Trafford depots onto this? If so, I would suggest adding the 'freight-only' link from Queen's Road to the Rochdale line too, plus any others that may exist. Crucially this means a junction North of Queen's Road, as well as to the south. Peeky44 What's on your mind? 14:44, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Im not sure, the line templates usually show only in service and closed lines not depots or rarely used track connections. WatcherZero (talk) 17:19, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
But surely we are interested in information about all aspects of a topic, not just the publicly-accessible service? If something is physically there, does it not warrant inclusion?--Peeky44 What's on your mind? 14:08, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The argument would then follow that it sets the precedent to include it on all rail templates, your probably best off asking for permission in the UK rail group as it will affect them the most. WatcherZero (talk) 20:23, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

(unindent) There seems to be a de-facto consensus in other UK light rail route templates to include such features. This includes Tyne & Wear Metro, Tramlink, Nottingham Express Transit, Docklands Light Railway & Blackpool tramway - though interestingly not the Midland Metro or the as yet inactive Edinburgh Trams. The Glasgow Subway, which is not light rail, also includes depot etc. I'm not sure we can apply the same rules as for mainline rail, as obviously the lines are much shorter, so I would suggest we look seriously at including such features. --Peeky44 What's on your mind? 08:53, 20 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Needs updating[edit]

This needs to be updated to reflect the opening of the Trafford Park Line. I would attempt it myself, but I'm unsure how to go about it, so I hoped someone more experienced would have a go. G-13114 (talk) 16:02, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Beyond my skills too. Perhaps someone on Wikipedia:WikiProject Trains may be able to help? DelUsion23 (talk) 16:33, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It should be easy. But Jc86035 (talk · contribs) converted it from the understandable {{BS-map}} format to the godawful {{routemap}} format. Since they have made it more difficult for others, they should be responsible for making all changes forwsrd from that conversion. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 18:37, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
