What's the point of this template ?[edit]

If anyone wanted to find which aircraft were produced by a particular manufacturer would they really look at this template on the off-chance that the manufacturer they're interested in is listed here ? - surely they'd look at either the article for the manufacturer or the appropriate category. Similarly what's so special about the Connie, Sweden and Imperial Airways that they get a mention here. This template doesn't show all lists of aircraft (e.g. the "List of ... variants" articles). The articles linked are a mix of list articles and non-list articles. Lots of lists that appear against "Civil aircraft" are mil+civ. There are even links that are piped to something different to what it says in the template (e.g. the last link is not to an article about a specific conflict). In short it's a mess. I propose that the vast majority of this template (apart from the "By name" section which may have a purpose) be removed. DexDor (talk) 19:52, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've started removing less useful bits of the template. DexDor (talk) 20:07, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Specifying The Military Planes[edit]

Is it possible that the military aircraft are sorted by type as the civil aircraft. Mike117711 (talk) 20:25, 24 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Template linking to templates[edit]

Wondering why these are in there when the company has a page that can be linked to?NiD.29 (talk) 20:49, 17 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
