We strongly recommend against using decorative icons in this way. There must be a better way of getting a link to the list article into the infobox, which I agree is a good thing. --John (talk) 19:45, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The main purpose is to indicate the infobox is referring only to the fort in articles describing a fort and also a settlement. --Saturnian (talk) 19:54, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Won't that be obvious from reading the words in the infobox? One of the rationales behind MOSICON is that if this is vital information, presenting it this way denies some of our readers access to the information. If it is not vital, it is just decoration, which is distracting to the majority. Try to find a better way of doing this, would be my advice. --John (talk) 19:58, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No, it isn't decorative. As I explained already the main purpose of the icon is to provide a clear distinction to the readers. The linking to the list of castra has a secondary role - less important. --Saturnian (talk) 20:10, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
So, if I am blind and reading on a screen reader, how will that work for me? --John (talk) 20:28, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I cannot reply to your question because I don't know (yet) how the screen reader would look like for blind people. Can you provide such rendering, an icon linking to an article? --Saturnian (talk) 20:38, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
we should use text (say a subheader) instead of an icon (e.g., like this). Frietjes (talk) 14:48, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
so any objections to the subheader? Frietjes (talk) 16:48, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
the icon is also problematic since it throws off the centering of the title. Frietjes (talk) 14:48, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The centering of the title can be fixed. An expert could configure the CSS style centring the title. The HTML span containing the icon and the text should be moved around 30 pixels left and the text of the title will be centered. I thought about this long time ago but I don't know to do it exactly. Help would be appreciated. --Saturnian (talk) 21:21, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Is there any way to make the Commons field link to a Commons category, instead of a page? Thanks, Simon Burchell (talk) 12:30, 26 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The documentation lists a "commanders=" parameter, but it is not used in the template. Is this misdocumented or a feature not yet implemented? Ahwiv (talk) 15:24, 27 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
