D.N.I. - D.I.D.[edit]

Two things bother me about this template. One: From 1887 to 1912 the Naval Intelligence Department was a civil department of the Admiralty. From 1912 it was the Intelligence Division (later Naval Intelligence Division) of the Admiralty War Staff (later Naval Staff). Two: From 1912 to 1918 the director was titled the Director of the Intelligence Division (D.I.D.), and not Director of Naval Intelligence (D.N.I.). To avoid confusion this template really ought to be deleted and reference made only to succession boxes or the Naval Intelligence Division article. —Simon Harley (Talk | Library). 08:48, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
