change[edit]

Would it be possible to change the name of this stub to {{Canada-university-stub}}? There's already a {{Canada-school-stub}}, and I've already created university stubs for some other countries, so it might be a good idea to go ahead and change this one. Kamezuki 05:02, August 16, 2005 (UTC)

I see no reason to re-name it. --File:Ottawa flag.png Spinboy 05:03, 16 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
But you could change the template wording. --File:Ottawa flag.png Spinboy 05:04, 16 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

If you'd been reading the stub proposals page lately, you'd see that the education stubs in general are being reworded - and this one is one of the main ones to be renamed. Grutness...wha? 08:17, 29 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, so why'd you move this back to Canada-edu-stub, when all of the other stubs concerning universities by nationality have been rewritten as "-university-stub"? How is this one any different? Kamezuki 22:49, 23 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

We're using it for colleges too, and the name didn't encompass that. --File:Ottawa flag.png Spinboy 22:52, 23 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but there are plenty of other countries using the university-stub template that also have colleges, such as {{US-university-stub}}, {{Australia-university-stub}}, {{Japan-university-stub}}, etc. While the name of the stub may not include "college" or "institution," the template certainly does. Besides, "edu" is much, much too encompassing, as it carries with it a connotation concerning everything relating to education (see Category:Education stubs to see what kind of articles are covered under education). Furthermore, there's already a Canada-school-stub, as I said back in August. Stub categories (actually, categories in general), when dealing with something as specific as this, should carry specific names; Canada-edu-stub is much too non-specific. In Canada, College != University. --File:Ottawa flag.png Spinboy No ads on Wikipedia. 22:18, 24 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
