Template-protected edit request on 19 September 2023[edit]

Please adjust links for Korea to Minorities in Korea (North Korea, South Korea) or such, bypassing redirects and linking both the top Korean and subarticles for NK/SK. (Creating SK right now). Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 05:57, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The template is built on the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 codes for sovereign countries and the entity of "Korea", combining north and south, is not listed there — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 09:53, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not done: From the article: "Korea is a peninsular region in East Asia." This template lists countries and a few dependencies. – Jonesey95 (talk) 13:09, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

For "Capital punishment in Asia", after Palestine add "(Gaza)". Loksmythe (talk) 04:16, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done this is a meta-template, please make your request on the talk page of the specific infobox template that has the pages you're referring to. Happymelon 17:55, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please remove all the redlinks (non-existing pages) fron this template. Dympies (talk) 08:04, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

To editor Dympies: red links are not uncommon in shell templates like this one. Please check the documentation to find several example templates with red links. This often inspires editors to write articles and turn red links into blue links. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 11:05, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Description of suggested change: Republic of Artsakh no longer exists. It needs to be removed form this template. BSRF (talk) 14:49, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request 25 February 2024[edit]

Description of suggested change: Please remove the link to "Terrorism in Israel" until a suitable article is created. Currently Terrorism in Israel is a redirect to Timeline of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. While the redirect is there for historical reasons, it's a violation of NPOV to imply that terrorism in Israel is inherently linked to Palestine, since the phenomenon actually encompasses also far-right terrorism, Jewish extremist terrorism, criminal terror, etc.

Alternatively, please consider retargeting Terrorism in Israel or nominating it for deletion as a bad redirect. — kashmīrī TALK 11:25, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Diff:

[[Terrorism in Israel]]

I suggest you nominate the article for deletion at WP:RFD if you think it should be deleted. It can't be deleted from this template without removing all other countries too — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 20:39, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, the edit request is not feasible. There is no direct link to that title within the template, but rather {{Asia topic|___}} automatically produces a link to [[___ Israel|Israel]] (and a corresponding link for each country) based on whatever prefix is put in ___. So this edit request is about {{Asia topic|Terrorism in}} behaving as intended (for example, at Terrorism in Pakistan#External links). Instead, the redirect Terrorism in Israel would need to be nominated at WP:RfD if you want to remove the bluelink. SilverLocust 💬 04:27, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This redirect was created in 2007 probably to provide a link in this Asia topic navbar, and its target has been bandied about a little since then. If the redirect is deleted, it will probably just be re-created later down the road. It appears that the best solution is to find the best target for the Terrorism in Israel redirect, which may well be accomplished at RfD. The Terrorism in Israel redirect has been nominated to find a better target or other solution at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2024 February 26#Terrorism in Israel. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 05:23, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The decision at RfD is to turn the redirect into a dab page, for example see the Israel link at Terrorism in India. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 23:47, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
