The result of the move request was: Moved to Tom Delay (businessman). There is consensus against the proposed use of DIFFCAPS to differentiate him from Tom DeLay, but Tbhotch's point about the disambiguator is a good one and seems uncontroversial given other entries in Category:21st-century English businesspeople  — Amakuru (talk) 10:10, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Tom Delay (businessperson)Tom Delay – using WP:DIFFCAPS as WP:D leads to a more WP:CONCISE article title. Vycl1994 (talk) 20:53, 11 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose – Different caps is seldom enough for disambiguation. Let's don't do that here. Dicklyon (talk) 04:19, 12 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose I think there is such a discrepancy in "Tom DeLay" versus "Tom Delay" that the latter needs the disambiguator. – Muboshgu (talk) 04:22, 12 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose I disagree with Dickylon - there is absolutely a place for WP:DIFFCAPS disambiguation. But I think this case is very different from, say, "Iron Maiden" vs. "Iron maiden". I suspect a large % of readers seeking information about Tom DeLay won't even be aware that the 'L' in his name is capitalized. It's a very subtle distinction (compared to using title case for proper names, which is widely understood). Colin M (talk) 22:11, 12 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move to Tom Delay (businessman), there's no reason to use the gender-neutral noun. © Tbhotch (en-2.5). 16:43, 14 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
