Comcast Technology Center[edit]

The Comcast innovation and technology center in Philadelphia, PA should be the last building on the list as it is 1 foot taller than one shenzhen building. It stands 1121 feet tall. 2601:197:B7F:FC90:9442:E19E:A4EB:D53C (talk) 20:07, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I likewise came here to ask why Philadelphia's Comcast Technology Center, which is 342 meters tall according to its article is not listed, while a building whose height is 341.7 meters is. The fact that nobody has responded to this section, which was added 98 days ago, makes me think people pay more attention to the article than the talk page. Perhaps I will be bold and add the CTC to the list. TypoBoy (talk) 21:28, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please do the article is still incorrect and CTC should be listed 2601:197:B7F:FC90:BD8E:A9EF:B10:BB1E (talk) 20:41, 9 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Column order[edit]

The two most important columns are the name and height. Overall the column order could be rearranged as:

  • (rank)
  • Name
  • Height m/ft
  • Floors / B
  • City
  • Country
  • Year
  • Coordinates (if kept at all, takes up lots of space for little value)
  • (note)

A map already shows where the very tallest buildings are, and each building's article has them as well. Wizmut (talk) 02:32, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the coordinates, so the table is about as squished as it's going to be. Please comment on how it looks so far.
Still need to move the number columns over and fix some alignment problems. Wizmut (talk) 13:14, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I think that does it with all the table re-arranging. Hope y'all like it.

@Tgbsww Can you say why you think this version[3] is an improvement over this version[4]. Seems like the column order should prioritize height, and the row size should prioritize comparisons rather than thumbnails of fairly similar buildings. Wizmut (talk) 21:08, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This article does not include the CN Tower, built in 1976 in Toronto, Canada, which was the tallest free-standing building from 1976 until 2007. 205.189.94.70 (talk) 23:31, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: The CN Tower is not a building by the definition provided at the very top of the article: Tall buildings, such as skyscrapers, are intended here as enclosed structures with continuously occupiable floors and a height of at least 340 metres (1,120 ft). Such definition excludes non-building structures, such as towers. You may be looking instead for List of tallest structures, linked at the top of the article, which does include the CN Tower. Hong Kong and Macau[edit]

Change the definition in the intro[edit]

The intro to that page says: "(…) and a height of at least 340 metres (1,120 ft)."

But according to Skyscraper (and its sources) "Modern sources define skyscrapers as being at least 100 meters (330 ft) or 150 meters (490 ft) in height".

Can we change it? Qubkon (talk) 12:03, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Egypt is building a 1000m skyscraper, Obelisco Capitale. It should be added to the list of tallest buildings under construction: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oblisco_Capitale Ecaml (talk) 08:35, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: I cannot find any sources stating that the building is actually under construction – it looks like it's so far just a proposal. If it is indeed under construction, please provide a source indicating that and I will be happy to add it to the list. Tollens (talk) 09:30, 22 March 2024 (UTC)bruhhfhfjjsks[reply]
