Biased Article ignores truth re slavery's destruction

Article white-washes the truth. The article glosses over the fact that native black residents of the island were often raped, lynched beaten by their European slave masters. It's like taking about Nazi Germany and simply saying "Hitler and his SS helped Jews, Blacks, and physically handicapped to travel to camps. Hitler loved certain music and is well known for his hairstyle' To make a better world let's end racism and bullying by certain racist editors on Wikipedia.

Carib Villages

By 1903, Edward VII was on the throne, so the special status of the villages cannot have been granted by "the British Queen". In any case, British monarchs don't rule, they reign.

The reservations were either devised by the Colonial Office or, more likely, the local Governor, Administrator or District Officer.

It would be interesting to read more on the history of the Carib people and the Nineteenth Century "black" government of the island, rather than Dominica's hum-drum life as yet another British colony, in the Twentieth Century.

Impossibility

"This special Carib Territory was granted by the British Queen in 1903" - but that's impossible, as the Queen then was Queen Alexandra, who had no involvement. Did it happen under Edward VII, or earlier under Queen Victoria? P.M.Lawrence.

Why is there not a SINGLE mention of the Dominican Republic?

Seriously, the only mention in the entire lengthy article other than a footnote in "it was recognised as a World Heritage Site on 4 April 1995, a distinction it shares with four other Caribbean islands" was a Wikipedia note not to confuse Dominica with the Dominican Republic.

Despite the many differences between what are two separate countries, couldn't there at least be a mention in the actual article text along the lines of "it was named after Saint Dominic, as was the Dominican Republic, another Caribbean country" - mentioning the point of common origin of etymology and note the difference between two distinct countries? 104.175.74.27 (talk) 04:41, 10 May 2023 (UTC)

I suggest adding articles that address this name/identity confusion (to the point that sometimes mail goes to the wrong place), such as this one below from Dominica News Online that suggests that the people and government of the Commonwealth of Dominica should change its name and demonym. An edit like this in Etymology section or somewhere in the article:

The similar names and the identical demonym with the Dominican Republic has caused some in Dominica to advocate a change in its name to establish its own identity. 104.175.74.27 (talk) 16:17, 29 May 2023 (UTC)

Territorial dispute re Isla de Aves

The section Geography and climate/Territorial disputes contradicts the information in the article on Isla de Aves, which states

"2006 Dominica and Venezuela informal agreement

"During a visit to Venezuela, Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, in June 2006, stated that Aves Island belongs to Venezuela, unofficially ending the territorial claim.[8]"
