- No consensus for a merge
It's a bit of a mess with Right to science and culture and Cultural rights. Maybe one is a subset of the other. But for the moment I believe the two stubs should be merged until some expert can expand them to explicate the distinction into two proper articles. jnestorius(talk) 11:43, 23 December 2013 (UTC)

-No they shouldn't be merged. They are confusing because the rights we all have are being systematically reduced, cut short, deemed inhumane or disturbance to society(fiction I think, but they no doubt have way more absurd reasons, once legal and without our approval turned against us, making us criminals for what is a right of ours, and then saying its a necessary step for the peoples protection. These and any other ridiculous reason they think the public will buy into then gets programmed into most Peoples thinking as, yes this issue must be taken care of before someone uses GHB to daterape my child. True data will show the percent of rapes perpetuated by involuntary consumption of GHB was at a level of obscurity, .00058% of rapes, the same 22 rapes used to explain the ghb and rape media made epidemic. To most who were old enough when the GHB purge happened, whether they remember it or not, might find GHB rape bringing up a lot more negative feelings, even more so than a much scarier and inescapable way to rape, prison rape from 96-99 was 1.91% of all rapes. The math would say 1.91%, when compared to .00058%, is over 3000 times larger, then logically we know there are over 3000 terrifying prison rapes in the same time period as 22 GHB rapes that propelled the demonization of GHB, a neurotransmitter created endogenously made within humans and many other mammals. A neurotransmitter responsible for dopamine function was being banned thanks to the increase in negative media coverage, government releases of potential human harm. All this chaos over something easily bought for the past 40 years, using by many to feel better emotionally, better during and after workouts, and many other ailment and enhancement issues. The first and only negative media specific campaign helped to make a health food common item since the 1960s, available to anyone, they helped make it become a banned evil chemical and not suitable for human consumption under the, some might say "false guise" of a fighting back a perceived immediate threat of the citizens. Then quicker and louder than any of the scientists replaced by criminal experts, not having any knowledge of chemistry beyond high school, and worlds away from knowing the interactions of neurotransmitters, most unaware they had GHB in there body at the moment they calmed the public with statements of how they are doing more and more each day so we can get to the day that GHB will never be in the body of another American willing or not. The lab experts, ineffectively armed with file cases full of proven and potentially helpful ways GHB can be used by humans and animals, were never heard and the public was fear mongered once again into accepting government and their unreasonable actions and vile tactics used to deceive for just one a the many times many think we have been duped. Unfortunately, the damage is done. One might think, it is the responsibility of a government to act swiftly, especially under all this pressure from concerned and worried Americans. They would be thinking sensibly but why did our government act swiftly in disobedience to the vast majority of truly concerned Americans, ones who would be effected on a very personal way. I am almost but as you read not quite, speechless, that it was pushed through congress so quick and all while concerned Americans putting on the pressure, were pro-GHB, and in very real danger, which became true, of becoming labeled a criminal for a very pedestrian, chemically known, by many, the limits of GHB was the case. After 40 years the public has been able to decipher the good and bad when it comes to smaller things like too much of most medications on store shelves is a bad, immediate threat to them by the possible overdose and death and yet they are ok with tons of meds given to each and every citizen, because what are you gonna do, ban it because a % so small the calculator puts it as 5.84e-5. Remember getting those and trying to recalculate to avoid the error. It means however a untold megastory about the facts of GHB rape, but it was like the replaced tv show scientists, replaced for a strange alternative, no % chart with the ridiculously small fraction, being ten thousands of a percent, and receiving about the same tiny part of a percent of the total knowledge the BIG NEWS was allowed to filter through to us. Oh the self proclaimed, unbiased, and investigative astuteness we would expect reporters to have, for they are the very source by which we can help America become the best it can be. I mean if they weren't given all of the knowledge they were privy too, would any of us have memories of our parents or grandparents coming home and eating dinner while watching the crap o'clock nightly news? If so, it would be memories of them laughing at this John Stewartisk type improve news where each reporter, anchor, sport and weather watcher was making your stomach hurt from laughing so hard as they competed to outdo the next on how to get a laugh while deceiving a nation. Maybe instead of reporting on the huge number of American-Middle East interactions and friendships created over the past 20 years by regular citizens thanks to many in the Middle-East flocking to U.S. college university campuses to train and learn a skill and new culture. And after not witnessing any flag burns, amazingly cultures coexisted and the love this world would have easily if the regular person, not ruling authority figure, was making decisions about what news would inform the public the best. Maybe you hadn't been aware but you weren't the only American who actually really enjoyed your visits to the corner store where you would talk and laugh with the clerk, an Iraqi bio-chemist major at the State University, and comedian/clerk at night. I know it felt like you were the first one to encounter this strange unknown meeting with very serious life threatening implications rising to the surface, and of course with the important news you use to base many unknowns on. You were laughing because the news would actually try and tell everyone not to go to certain countries due to irrational unprovoked hatred of Americans but leave out the previous story for every nightly news ever. This could only be a comedy, I mean close your eyes and change the channel, then again, you would be certain its just jumping to the same channel because those funny fake weird voices and on stage interactions are not human and not going to make me feel like Tom Tucker and Gloria Stivey are really giving me important independently researched news that matters. Middle eastern friends for true feel good news, actually not make people feel weird when this happens initially like its a true rarity and frankly down right taboo in some families. Beware of backpacks was a key slogan in terror school. Good news that never gets familiar, kittens and firemen or the cop that was actually put in a situation, then inadvertently helped save a life instead of a, us versus them attitude, and try to ruin 3 or 4 lives that day. You probably are like most and make decisions with some maybe unconscious help via the things you watch on TV, read in a paper or online. Making the right choice for you and us would really start to bring to light the type of people that almost all humans are. Loving, trying to make a better life for their loved ones and never go into anything thinking they will screw anyone anyhow to move up the money chain. The phrase "The American People want" is something once used by the news borrowed by politicians and never based on what we want. Maybe based on what we would choose out of two really bad options forced upon us. But guaranteed they aren't working for what we want and regardless if you care one of them has to win the pick as long as we still play rodeo clown and put on our responsible voter suit every time when by now I hope most understand that one person after another every 4 years will enter the white house to write executive orders, ordering its ruled class in the ways of this kingdom, essentially making forced peasantry for all, then telling you that this is as good as it gets, you can now relax, pat yourself on the back and just stop trying to be better, you are kings and queens but well your kingdom is under our jurisdiction, so pay little attention to the outrageous amount of money we spend on your safety but make sure to avoid the gallows and pay your equality participation fee every month. You don't recover after receiving the reputation of a Lop-sider or 80/20 man, equality is what makes it seem like your free in a kingdom that has a king who claims to not be, so don't question what right and wrong, we already have told you and will break live shows to tell you really important orders to follow. I end with our kingdom motto: Trust no kingdom that isn't within your kingdome and if they are within one day trot then treat them like the people from the Eternal Fire Pond, known by all, to be filled with Lopsider Hatred and Disorder and Vile truthnottruther types, they scream about the vail over all eyes right until that vale is eaten away by acid bubble busters. Thanks for that very rational suggestion! I can imagine that the two categories – the “right to science and culture” and “cultural rights” – appear to overlap substantially to the casual observer. I also fully agree that the entire field is in need of further elaboration and clarification, in general.
However, despite the potential for confusion, the overlap may be less great than may appear. On the one hand, the “right to science and culture” pertains mostly to the rights of the individual (as defined by the United Nations and other multilateral bodies.) “Cultural right(s),” on the other hand, are an area of more philosophical inquiry (legal and political in nature, especially). The latter, rather than focusing mainly on pressures to protect particular individuals against specific abuses, considers broadly whether culture, the human condition, and collective behavior are or should be universally connected -- and if so how. As stated, the former focus almost exclusively on the rights of individual citizens whereas the latter can question, for instance, whether cultural groups should also have rights as groups (and if so why and when) and how these relate to individual rights – regardless of what states or group of states the rights owner(s) are subject to.
For now, I suspect that the disambiguation of the above can best occur with the above approaches jointly discussed. On the other hand, besides agreeing that topic of Cultural Rights is in urgent need of elaboraiton, separate entries could develop, in the long run.
