R1a and R1b[edit]

I corrected unlogical sentences, in addition not covered by the data.HJJHolm (talk) 07:21, 21 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Chronology[edit]

The beginning at 2900 BC related upon a Netherland's source. In fact, CWC startet somewhat earlier in the East, attested now for Poland and Czechia (JurasSciRep2018, PapacSciAdv2021, Allentoft 2022 not yet checked).HJJHolm (talk) 07:05, 22 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Corded Ware phenotype-physical appearance[edit]

There is a number of studies analyzing CWC individuals and how they looked. They found overwhelmingly dark hair, dark eyes and intermediate/mixed intermediate-to-dark skin (second study even finds dark skin at around 50% of cwc individuals, not even mixed intermediate-to-black). No lactase persistence either

I suggest these are added to the article 62.74.110.28 (talk) 22:11, 18 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm gonna assume that you thought that it meant that CWC were as dark as South Asians but do you realize that South Europeans also score the same results? That is misleading people because of what they consider intermediate and dark results. Intermediate-to-dark skin = South European results therefore the CWC had the same skin color as South Europeans.
Obviously when someone that has never seen what others score on programs such as Hirisplex they will assume that the Intermediate-to-dark = East African/South Asian type of color. Itisme3248 (talk) 11:00, 19 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Halpogroup R1a and Slavs[edit]

R1a was discovered in in Poland (Łęki Małe 2286-2048 BC with R1a1a1 and Rogalin 2000 BC with R1a1), Germany and Sweden. All these samples belonged to the remains of people identified with the Corded Ware Culture. Constituting 70% of all tested samples from this period, R1a clearly dominated the culture. The younger remains of R1a derivatives found in this area belonged to the people of the cultures that followed the Corded Ware Culture. It is worth noting that in most countries where the Corded Ware Culture occurred, modern R1a samples occur in a very high percentage: Poland 57.5%, Belarus 51%, Russia 46%, Ukraine 44%, Slovakia 41.5%, Latvia 40%, Lithuania 38%, Czech Republic 34%, Estonia 32%, Norway 25.5%, Denmark 16%, Germany 16%, Sweden 16%. The Corded Ware Culture (ca. 4th-2nd millennium BC), which covered the largest area of Europe, largely coincides with the area currently occupied by Slavic countries - the main carriers of the R1a haplogroup. They are the direct (natural/genetic) ancestors of the Western and Eastern Slavs. They are the ancestors of almost 60% of Poles. 95.117.59.242 (talk) 02:58, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
