Devil May Cry[edit]

Can anyone tell me if/how this relates to the Devil May Cry series? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by XBlitzerx (talkcontribs) 22:29, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

dante wrote a book about the depiction of hell. he's known as one of the four best italian writers of that time. vergil was another one of the best, and they were somewhat rivals, competing if you wanna call it. devil may cry just used their names and put it in their game because it had to do with hell, rivalry, and all that. hope that cleared thoughts. -PitchBlack —The preceding unsigned comment was added by PitchBlack (talkcontribs) 20:21, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
It's pretty impressive that Virgil held a rivalry with Dante, considering they lived nearly a millennium and a half apart.--Kento 19:32, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Kento good comment lol :), to others Virgil and Dante are actually standing behind - not fighting --ro|3ek 23:28, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Dante used Virgil in his Divine Comedy out of respect for a long-dead author whom he admired. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.81.93.66 (talk) 23:30, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
