I assume "Kingdom of Croatia" would be more precise, since Pavelic had proclaimed the restoration of King Zvonimir's crown on May 15, 1941. I think the map needs some mending because:
There is no source given for the map data.
The map is named "Western Balkans", which is quite an unusual term for 1942, while it actually shows the carve-up of Yugoslavia under Axis occupation in 1941. Consequently, it should be named "Dismemberment of Yugoslavia in 1941" or the like.
Istria is shown as belonging to Croatia in its current borders, although it had belonged to Italy when the war broke out in 1941.
The Sanjak of Novi Pazar region is shown as belonging to Serbia, although it had been occupied by Italy and allotted to Montenegro in 1941.
The Banat is shown as part of Serbia, although it was administered separately by the local German population.
The German-Italian demarcation line in Croatia is not shown.
Why chose 1942? 1941 would be more logical. If you insist on 1942, please note that:
Communist liberated territories as of 1942 are not shown.
The German-Bulgarian demarcation line changed continuously: Bulgaria obtained parts of South-Eastern Serbia on January 15, 1942 (line Zajecar, Kragujevac, Raska, Kraljevo, Vucitrn). No, I don't think we need to use the term kingdom, because that whole thing was just worthless fascist propaganda. The term "Independent State of Croatia" would be appropriate because that's the common name for that state, see the article. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 21:27, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
