The reservoir with the red liquid is NOT the reservoir with gasoline for cold starting (rather, it is the engine coolant reservoir). The cold-starting gasoline is kept in the reservoir on the left top of the picture (of which the cap is not shown) instead. (Conform images in Chevrolet technical documentation).
