I have had a great time observing this bird in Caleta de Fuste, Fuerteventura from 23rd to 25th April. It appeared to be looking for a place to land on the rocks north of CdF. There were three birds in close formation for part of the day and then a single bird, which briefly landed twice next to a rock pool. On the next two days two birds flew in close formation, accompanied by larger gulls which appeared to be warning them off the area. The birds communicated wih their rather coarse shrieks, and continually circled around a small outcrop of volcanic rocks for a matter of hours. Their flight was much more staccatto than the rather more graceful gulls.
