- The image is of low resolution, and unsuitable for commercial reproduction
- The article is of a visual work, and benefits greatly from the image, needed to define and illustrate the theatrical ritual, and parody of the capitalist system, implicit in the performance.
- The work is one of the most famous pieces of performance art ever produced, and of historic significance. The only traces it has left behind are photos of the burning and the remaining cheques. As such, this photo is essential to define the works parameters as a seminal work of performance/concetual art.
- The work demanded witnesses, and was photographed to capture the idea in concrete terms. This is one of the photos commissioned by Klein to record the event, and has been used for publicity of the artwork ever since.
