Summary

Description
English: Fellini Airport's only major accident occurred on 31 July 1960. A Convair CV-240 flown by Deutsche Flugdienst, which had made its maiden flight in 1948, was landing on runway 13 at the airport as scheduled from Düsseldorf Airport, with an intermediary stop in Frankfurt Airport. At around 5,000 feet (1,500 metres) altitude, its left engine stuttered and stalled, followed by the right engine at 1,500 feet (460 metres). The plane was forced to make an emergency landing on a farm 1 kilometre (0.62 miles) northwest of the airport. Though the plane landed, a right wing hit a tree; a branch struck a window, killing a 24-year-old German passenger. Three were injured: the co-pilot, stewardess, and a passenger. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
