Ελληνικά: Ο πίνακας απεικονίζει τον ναό του Ηφαίστου στο Θησείο στην Οθωμανική Αθήνα το 1751. O ναός ευρίσκεται βορειοδυτικά της Ακροπόλεως και στην βορειοδυτική πλευρά της αρχαίας Αθηναϊκής Αγοράς. Βλέπουμε Αθηναίους Αρβανίτες χωρικούς να λιχνίζουν σιτηρά στο χώρο μπροστά στον ναό, ρίχνοντας τον καρπό ψηλά, ενώ φυσάει το μεσογειακό αεράκι. Ένας Τούρκος υπηρέτης μαζί με τον υιό του αφεντικού του τους δίνουν εντολές τι να κάνουν. Ένας άλλος Αρβανίτης μαζί με την γυναίκα του και το παιδί του κάθονται κάτω από τον ίσκιο ενός λυόμενου υπόστεγου, που το ονομάζουν «καλύβι». Οι Αρβανίτες είναι χριστιανικός ορθόδοξος πληθυσμός που ασχολείται με την γεωργία και ομιλούν την δική τους γλώσσα. Το υπέδαφος μπροστά στο ναό έχει διαβρωθεί από τις βροχές και φαίνεται ο στερεοβάτης. Στο βάθος διακρίνουμε το βουνό Υμηττό και τον λόφο Λυκαβηττού (δεξιά) και τα Τουρκοβούνια (αριστερά).
English: View of the Temple of Hephaestus or Hephaisteion (Ἡφαιστεῖον) –formerly called in error Theseion or Theseum (Θησεῖον)– in Ottoman Athens in 1751.
