Description
English: On August 11, 2013, the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Aqua satellite acquired this image of Typhoon Utor (Labuyo) at 05:15 UTC, shortly before peak intensity. At its strongest, Utor was a violent typhoon with estimated ten-minute maximum sustained winds of 105 knots (195 km/h or 105 mph). About 15 hours later, Utor made landfall over the northern Philippines.
