Summary

Description
English: Holland America line cargo steamship Maartensdijk, with her name and port of registry painted on the side of her hull in large letters for recognition as a neutral ship in the First World War. Built in 1902 as Rapallo. Interned by the USA, requisitioned for the US Navy, & commissioned in March 1918 as USS Maartensdijk (ID 2497).

The original print is in National Archives' Record Group 19-LCM.
