Description

Das Bild zeigt das Mosaik des so genannten Leonischen Tricliniums. In der Rundung, also der Apsis ist Jesus zu erkennen, wie er seinen Aposteln den Auftrag erteilt, die Menschen auf den rechten Weg zu führen. Die beiden kleineren Mosaike an der Stirnseite zeigen links Jesu, wie er Konstantin und Petrus die Machtinsignien überreicht. Das rechte Mosaik zeigt wiederum Petrus, der die Machtinsignien an Papst Leo und Kaiser Karl d. Gr. weiterreicht.
