Summary
| Description |
English: St James' Chapel, Ashby Road, Tamworth, Staffordshire. This is the oldest building in Tamworth, at least 12th-century Norman, and possibly earlier. Commonly called the Spital Chapel, as it was the chapel of a monastic hospital. At the Reformation it was turned into a barn. It was turned back into a chapel in 1914. This part of Tamworth was formerly part of Wigginton township. |
