English: The Obelisk, Brightling, East Sussex, near to Brightling, East Sussex, Great Britain.
The Obelisk, or 'Brightling Needle' stands 65 feet (20 m) high. Its reason for existence is unknown. Some claim it was built to commemorate Nelson's Victory of Trafalgar in 1805 and others Wellington's victory over Napoleon in 1815. It is one of eight folly structures built in the area by 'Mad Jack' Fuller.
