Summary

Description
English: Near solar minimum, the point of minimum activity during the Sun's 11-year activity cycle, helmet streamers appear confined to the heliographic equation in what is referred to as the streamer belt. This image was taken by SOHO's LASCO C2 coronagraph on 1996/04/09 at 15:18 UT, near the solar minimum between solar cycles 22 and 23. Courtesy of SOHO/LASCO consortium. SOHO is a project of international cooperation between ESA and NASA.
