Date: 8/8/2002...Sharif Ali Bin Al Hussein, spokesperson for the Iraqi National Congress, (INC - a coalition of groups based in London), and a member of their leadership council, speaking at the National Press Club on "The Role of the Iraqi Opposition in the Overthrow of Saddam Hussein and the Liberation of Iraq". He spoke about the role of the INC in restoring a democratic government to Iraq. He was one of six INC opposition leaders in Washington at the invitation of the State and Defense Departments. He is also a leader of the Constitutional Monarchy Movement, which supports the return of democracy and constitutional government to Iraq under a monarchy, ("like in Canada"). He is a first cousin of the last Hashemite King of Iraq, Faisal II, and is Candidate Heir to the Throne. ..Credit: Jim Wallace (Smithsonian Institution)
