Das Denkmal für den Erbauer der Semmeringbahn, Carl Ritter von Ghega, wurde von dem Wiener Architekt Heinrich von Ferstel entworfen und am 22. Juli 1870, zehn Jahre nach Ghegas Tod, enthüllt.
