Do contrário, disse Rita Izsák-Ndiaye, existe o risco de enviarmos uma mensagem de fracasso para as gerações futuras. “O que aconteceu com os yazidis, com os cristãos, com os kakais e outras minorias é algo absolutamente terrível. Sabemos que o número de cristãos no Iraque diminuiu de 1,5 milhão para 200 a 300 mil”, disse Rita. “E se você olhar para a situação dos yazidis, tive a chance de entrevistar algumas mulheres yazidi que foram sequestradas pelo ISIL, que foram estupradas pelo ISIL. E seus depoimentos realmente deixaram uma marca no meu coração, sinto que devemos fazer o nosso melhor para garantir que haja responsabilização e que não haja impunidade para todos aqueles que cometem esses crimes extremos”, acrescentou a especialista, que entregou seu relatório ao Conselho de Direitos Humanos das Nações Unidas em março. |
